[Listening to |Wolves howling, with voices more emotional than our own]

This is a pretty meaningless rant, but at least I've gotten it out of my system. I've been meaning to for a while.
And by the way, this is not directed at any of you; it is simply a rant, so please don't get offended.

To me, it's always worth knowing animals other than ourselves. They're so full of life and uniqueness, curiousity and beauty, that we could learn a lot from them if only we'd pay attention. They are more than most of our species give them credit for. All these years they have been murdered, punished and exploited because of the feeble excuse that they are taking up the land that we have a right to. I am sick of hearing that excuse. I am tired of them being treated like mere things that are lower than ourselves. They are not, and it's time people realized this.
Thank you for listening.

I totally agree with you. It disturbs me that so many people think of animals as "lesser", or inferior, and that they are just here for us to do what we want with.
But unfortunately a lot of people also feel that way about the planet itself, and frighteningly, some think that way about

And we wonder why the world is in the state it's in.
Have a good week.

Yeah, it is very sad that most people feel that way about every aspect of the world but themselves. You're right--of course the world is in the state it's in when so many people support this view.
And thanks--I hope you have a good week as well.

i agree completely... of coarse it's part of my religion to treat all things kindly. "an ye harm none do what ye will" i love all animals. anyhow i just wanted you to know that you are not alone in your feelings.

Thank you so much. I'm glad that there are others out there who feel the same way, and the quote helped a lot.

yep, I agree too.

at work the other day I told one of my co-workers that I am a vegetarian and he was like "well, what is the purpose of animals other than for us to eat?" and I said "what is YOUR purpose then" and he shut up :D

Good job :)
I've never gotten the courage to say something like that, but it really needs to be said. I'm glad you were able to, because maybe that person thought twice about their beliefs.
