This song sums up my wanderlust in such a beautiful way. It makes me yearn for a world I've never seen. It also makes me yearn for the past...the old-fashioned, nostalgic existence. If only I could run across that beauty and see everything there was to see! As much as I love being busy, I still ache for the simple life. The tilling of the fields, beauty stretching far as the eye can see, bringing up your children confident that the lives they will lead will not fester or drown under the heavy hand of "progress", that they're growing up with no other need than to make a life and find a love. And the love, MY love...how I wish both of our lives didn't have to be complicated with plastic, intangible things and thoughts and people. They rot our everyday lives. Enough of universities, jobs, bureaucracy! Give me hills, give me fields! All I want is THIS, in this song. To hell with diplomas!--all I want is to exist.

So back to the song...maybe you'll get something out of it too, and it is a pretty song regardless. You can download it through any audio search...it is quite plentiful. And here are the lyrics to .

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold

So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
You forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in fields of gold

See the west wind move like a lover so
Upon the fields of barley
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You forget the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
