|Trip Pictures #3 (a merged post!): The Visit to Daddy & Linda's, plus Contagious Amtrak Madness.

Huzzah, they're all posted!
Ari and my dad, looking for gold near Sutter's Mill.
Now we're looking a bit harder...I felt like a dwarf, sparked to passion by the glint of gold and silver. Dwarves would love California...they would make mining cities as glorious as Moria was in its heyday.
Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco.
Posing on Pier 39 with Daddy and Linda...there were so many people taking photos here!
I am on a boat...yes, me. On a BOAT.
I absolutely LOVE this one!
Talk about candid...
We are on a ridge in Lake Tahoe, with my father, my grandma, and The Bear.
This looks dysfunctional, so it cracks me up.
An Ocean Sunfish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They're very unusual, very huge, very AMAZING fish.
Egg Yolk Jellies.
More jellyfish...if only I remembered the species!
Cormorants and seals!
On the train: "duuuuuuuude".
Amtrak's safety booklets prepare you for any situation: if you're ambushed by creepy deformed midgets while on an escalator, they tell you exactly what to do.
The Creepy Deformed Midget Syndrome is highly contagious. If your child shows signs of this dangerous illness, kindly escort him off the train using the closest emergency exit. It is dangerous to exit a moving train, so please watch your step.
This is either "I'm some sort of puppy!", or "Oh yeah, swimming's EASY--look, I'll teach ya!"
"This astral projection thing is harder than I thought!"
"Look, my hands are MAGIC!"
This is what we'd look like if we were found catatonic in a closet, like that scene in Weird Science.
But, in actuality, it's a roommette...and it made for quite a fun trip (besides the not-being-able-to-sleep-in-a-noisy/rocking-train thing).
Hehe...when your roomette's as small and jolty as this, you've gotta make "adjustments".
This is such a poignant expression!
We be in the dining car! They actually had very good food.
I like these photos for various reasons.
Captivated by Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, and it's also sunset.
Chicago's historic train station...these shots do little to capture the huge, intricate, breathtaking grandeur of the place.
...and there's a tiny me.
That's it for now!
