The strangeness of being Amanda [Oct. 31st, 2007|07:19 pm]

[Current Mood |awakeawake]

The human body never ceases to amaze me. I was born in California and spent 19 years there with the hot, dry summers and the cool, wet winters (only two seasons, really).
And then I move here where there's actual SEASONS, and my body's acting like it's known what to do all along. I've had a voracious appetite, especially for fatty foods, and I haven't had insomnia in weeks cause all my body wants to do is sleep. And I guess I need to do this because in spite of it all, I've been losing weight from exposure to the cold.
Before I moved here I never had this experience! It totally amazes me that out of nowhere, without any conscious thoughts, the body adapts to things it's NEVER encountered before...it's just programmed for it. It's frickin' amazing!

On a particularly unrelated note, the other day I had the impulsively excited realization of "OMG wow, I can read my own thoughts!!".
Yeeees Amanda, you can...

Oh, and happy halloween!

Thank you!
And yeah, I can imagine it does. I'm living in New Jersey now, which is a truly seasonal climate...hot summers, a genuine fall and spring, and a winter that has snow (some winters not very much, other winters a LOT). It's pretty nice!

Oh believe me, you're not missing much lol. The tourists like it but they're not there for a whole 4-5 month summer!
But yeah, I know what you mean...the grass is always greener on the other side lol. You guys do get grizzly winters though...I know from Ari's grandparents in Akron. But you'll only need to endure 1 or 2 more after this one, right?
