Semi-pointless ramblings [Jan. 24th, 2004|02:53 pm]
[Current Mood |crazycrazy]

I feel somewhat better today.
Tomorrow is the wildlife center party, and everyone who's coming gets to bring food. So I just finished making a Sicilian dish: garbanzo beans in garlic-lemon sauce. It's really good--we have it all the time.
And here's a fun, little-known fact about me: I'm half Sicilian. Another little-known fact is that my other half is predominantly German and Dutch. So, yeah.
I wanted to apologize to all for not being on Instant Messenger for quite a while. I just haven't been in the right mood for it; it's not that I'm avoiding any of you or anything like that. I just need a break, I suppose.

I just re-noticed something today--there are so many little things in life that I take for granted. For example, stuff in the house that's been there forever. If I walk past a piece of furniture that been there a while, most of the time I don't see it because I know it's there. Yet if something changes, I notice it immediately. But, I guess that's just what our minds are programmed to do. In the past, this helped us survive. And now, it's just something we take for granted.
And there's something--taking for granted the fact that we take things for granted. WOW. And yet, we do it all the time...

lol, I'm getting a headache.

Thanks! It's really good...*hunts for recipe*
I found it...and it is as follows:
1 can chick peas
1/4 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon minced parsley

-drain beans thoroughly
-heat oil in skillet, add garlic and beans
-saute until lightly browned, drain well
-season w/ other ingredients
-serve either hot or cold

Hope this helps :)
