My back's out! It's never been out. This is the day I have two labs and two lectures, too. Wish me luck--I'm gonna leave about 5 mins early to make sure I get to the bus stop ok. Took a bunch of books out of my pack too--now it's lighter. If they tell me I need em today, well screw them! I'm gonna be one pathetic person today. I can do everything but bend and lift my arms high. I scream whenever I do. Couldn't touch my hair without considerable pain, so it still looks all sleep-mussed. May have to take tomorrow off work if this doesn't get better. Damn! Why? |
By the way, do you think I'm in danger of getting paralyzed? Does that sort of stuff happen? I'm kinda scared.

. The second article lists some symptoms accompanying the pain that may indicates the need for medical attention, but it seems that in most cases the problem is simply muscle spasms. It's unlikely you're in danger of becoming paralyzed, although it doesn't exactly feel wonderful to have your back give out. o___< Mine did that after I unwisely spent 6 straight hours sitting hunched over in front of the computer at work. My muscles were so tight, I couldn't even breath without wanting to cry. xD; Anyway, I hope you feel better soon! ^___^
Thank you so much hun, that made me feel infinitely less panicked :) And thankfully, it's a lot better now.
If at all possible, i would suggest going to a chiropractor.
If not, definitely take it easy- if you have to lift anything, DON"T BEND OVER; crouch down, and lift with your legs.
Thank you--I did take it easy for a number of days, and now it's only tender. When I got to work that morning I told my manager what happened and he told me, "Ok. You're to stay out of shipping/recieving for at least a week, and that's an order!". hahaha.
i did that a couple of years ago. Stood up from my chair and torn a muscle in my back that holds the body upright. That was less than pleasent. Just treat your back gently and don't do anything strenuous. If it keeps up go and see your doctor.
Aw gosh...that mustn't have been fun.
And thank you, it is thankfully much better. Still tender, but it recovered fairly quickly :)
