Ghost stories (hopefully these will get my mind off Cassy) [Sep. 4th, 2003|07:41 pm]

This is a brief account of the strange things that have happened here over the years. Most have to do with who we call the ghost girl, an apparition that everyone but me has seen clearly. She appears, from my family's tellings, to be a young girl of about ten years old in a white dress, which may be a nightgown. My mother and I used the Ouija board to try and contact the girl, and when we asked her what her name was, the cursor pointed to the initials S.E. Then, as we later found out, we both wound up with the same exact name in our heads (protected to give her confidentiality). The last name just happened to be that of a street near us. Unfortunately I have done Internet research and have found nothing about an SE in this area.
Anyway, since I was little I used to be afraid of the ghost my mother and sister had seen on occaison. She always appeared in the corner of our living room (the room I'm in right now), and through the room into the hallway. She always disappeared at the end of the hallway. Once my mother thought she was my sister Crystal, and asked her what she was doing up. But no, it wasn't Crystal.
Recently, these appearances have gotten worse. One night, my sister Holly woke up in the middle of the night and saw a girl in the kitchen. All she could see was part of her face, and she said that, after watching the ghost for a while, she saw Holly and hurriedly moved so she could not see her. Holly did not know the approximate age of the girl, but she too said that she seemed to be about ten. A month later, I was in my room reading and heard Mama say that the ghost girl was in the hallway again. Then, a while later, Holly heard someone crying in the family room. There was no one there. This was the same night as when she was hanging up clothes and had a strong feeling that a dog was watching her. Again, there was no one there. And two days ago when I was watching Cassy, I heard soft crying and breathing coming from Holly's bed. I looked, and again there was no one there--both Crystal and Holly were out of the house.

Weird stuff, huh? That's all I can really say is attributed to her, but there does seem to be another prescence in the house, as well as a couple of our pets. Stay tuned! I'll post about them later.

oh god, that gives me the chills. nothing paranormal has never happened in my house but my friend becca's house might be haunted...that's so creepy. it's probably the ghost of a girl who died in that house a long time ago, if the house is old and since she was so young she has unfinished business. it's sad.

Yeah, I'm afraid to leave my room in the middle of the night, since she appears in the hallway most of the time. Our house isn't that old, so we think that maybe she died on our property and is using the house as a refuge. And yeah, I'm sure she does have unfinished business, which is very sad because she may be here forever.

Interesting entry.

"I heard soft crying and deep breathing coming from Holly's bed."
This part makes me laugh. I just imagine it being Holly, and it's funny. Sorry.

There are communities about this stuff. Maybe you should join them and post there too.

Whoa. o_o There is a ghost that lives in our house as well, but what's funny is he has followed us many times.

We call him Harold, though ironically it isn't his name, but ohwell. Anyways, I've seen him on occassion throughout our old apartment and he appears to be about 13-14 years old with brown hair.

Instead of having 'unfinished business' or being of a sad or scary matter, he's actually quite a pest. A lot of times he will knock stuff down, make noises and knock on the walls lightly.

One summer we left for vacation, and when we came back he was gone. We were worried, because we thought he may have left--but sure enough, when September came around, he was back again. And up the old tricks as ever.

Then he began leaving every summer, almost like it was his 'vacation'. It became ritual, every year he left at the same time and came back at the same time. Then, when we moved, we were worried he was gone now, left at the house. And he was, for about three weeks. But then, one day a glass fell from the cupboard, knocking the door open, and I chuckled to myself and said, "Daaaaaaad, Harold's back." :)

Wow--that's pretty cool. Harold seems to be a lot happier than our ghost, and I'm glad! I love ghost stories, so thanks for sharing yours :)
