Good things have happened!:
*Ari and Ellen went to Cleveland for two days and just came back last night. I spent those days over at Leona's (Ari's grandmother's), which turned out to be a lot of fun. Being away from Ari was just fine (it feels good to not feel dependent on his existence), so it's helped me feel better about not seeing him every day when school starts. It will let me appreciate him more when I do see him. Hence, THAT big concern just got shoved out of existence.
*I've been homesick for Mama, but I had a good conversation with her last night and it was so wonderful to hear her voice and know she's ok (along with the rest of my family).
*I've started my second job at the Kean University Bookstore. It's a much bigger store and so everyone has set positions that don't overlap. I, on the other hand, worked at my smaller store doing different things every day...so they're impressed that I know how to cashier, shelve books, use the database, do buybacks, return stuff, set out course tags, etc. Most of the other people only do a couple of these things, so I've become the Universal Position Person. Also, everyone's so nice! And weird, too!! I'm in heaven!
*I move into the Hilton Wednesday and classes start Thursday. We already have our books.
I was really nervous about moving before but now I'm really excited. The Hilton! Dorm-style! I think it's because I've been around a lot more people on campus through the bookstore, and have yet to see a college student like the ones in California. Kean students seem to actually think! And they act semi-mature! And they're polite and interesting! Wow--the novelty!
*We're taking a day-trip to Cape May today. It's a little seaside tourist town with interesting shops, museums, exhibits, etc. And lots of nature preserves!
It's gonna be a fun day, and I think everyone could use a day away (Gene was right) :)
*I'm truly happy right now. Things have worked and they've worked better than I could ever hope. I'm so excited for what's ahead...I'm SO glad I took the risk and moved across the country...I'm worth it...and goshdarnit...people LIKE me! :P
*huggles you people* Sorry I've been away so long.
