More disjointed updates (I'll make up for this time deficiency one of these days, eh?) [Aug. 18th, 2007|04:09 pm]

Here's what's happened since I've gotten back:
--I've resumed working full-time at my bookstore, found out I've procured a raise & a future week's paid vacation (!!!!!), and things are nuts as can be (all this scrambling to get ready for the Fall semester). Mind you, I prefer it when work is nuts so I'm happy.

--Ari's black-belt test is scheduled for September so he's practicing like mad.

--He now has a car!! A '97 Taurus, given to him quite generously by a fellow brown-belt (it's custom for everyone to give gifts to someone going black). It's in great shape and is, possibly, the safest model Ford ever made. Ari's in love with it. Consequently, we've made plans to get our licenses together and are taking our permit tests on Monday! Hopefully, this time around, I won't get another car totalled in my learning process. *knocks on wood*

--School's starting in a few weeks...I don't know whether to dance or shudder, as always.

--Leona (Ari's grandmother) is almost ready to move in. Another month, hopefully. This side of the house is starting to look amazing and we've been putting finishing touches onto it.

--August 15th was 2 1/2 years with Ari, and it seems to be getting even better with time. It really doesn't seem like this long!

--I STILL haven't gotten to the photos and am truly sorry about it. I want to actually have enough time to update, but alas! Time's never on my side because it's always filled up with other random crap.

yay for fords... I'll be driving one too! Good luck on getting your licsenses, east coast driving is mad easy i guess, my old boss was from california and she said NYC driving is mad easy compared to LA driving, although you guys are in Jersey and Jersey driving is ridiculous, like I hate where you can't make turns where it would be logical to make turns. oy vey.

Oh yes, the dreaded illegal U-turns! It took me a while before I figured out what was so strange about NJ driving...it seemed that something fundamental was missing! :P
Though actually yeah, I'm surprised...NJ drivers are less nuts and much more courteous than they are in California.

--I know what you mean when you say you have to have stuff to do when you work instead of nothing lol I couldn't sit around and do nothing at my job or I'd get way emotional.

--lol I wish him luck on the test! Gregg took karate some time ago...not sure what belt he has/had though. If my mom wasn't so passifist I'd totally take karate lol

--I wish you luck getting your permit lol mine expires in November...and I only have an hour driving in lol. Sooo I think I'm going to wait until I get older as well. I'm sure you'll do fine lol

--I know what you mean about school lol I want it to come and yet I don't.

--Hope you enjoy having Leona around :) I'm sure she's really sweet.

--Congrats :) I'm glad things are still awesome with you two! I'm curious though, did you guys date online for awhile?

--Good things come to those who wait :D take your time on the pics!

--Yes! I don't understand the people who actually enjoy sitting around and staring at the wall. It's torture!
--And thanks! After 15 years, his time has come :)
I think you should though; it's not about being violent...it's about learning to defend yourself and becoming more in touch with your body in the process. And staying in shape!
--And thanks, same here...mine expired a long time ago too, and I think the time's finally come for it.
--and ditto.
--And yes, we did date online. It was long-distance for over a year (and that was a very tortuous time).
--Thanks for your support. I'm working on them as we speak, so it's getting closer!

--I know but my mom thinks it's just fighting and stuff, I know it's not...when I go to college I wanna take yoga though.
--skip lol
--more skip
--it is hard to date online lol Gregg and I have been together for about a year and a half now but luckily he may be moving to Missouri in January *dances* it'd still be online dating for 2 more years but still!
--I look forward to seeing them :)

If posed the option, do tai chi instead of yoga. If taught by a competant instructor, it will give you all the benefits of yoga as well as martial arts.
